A Fedex advertisement from 1980 reads: “Waiting is frustrating, agonizing, aggravating, annoying, time consuming and incredibly expensive.”1 This statement may seem extreme, but I think most of us would agree with it. We all hate waiting. Whether it is a quick stop for your daily dose of caffeine or your weekly Costco grocery run, chances are you have spent some time standing in line this week. What do you do while you wait in line? Time wasted that could be used otherwise can cause anxiety and stress. Add up the time spent in a line-up in the past 3 days – wouldn’t you prefer to have used that time for something productive or fun?
